Beard or no Beard? 24/10

BEARD OR NO BEARD?

A recent study conducted by researchers from the University of New South Wales and published in Evolution and Human Behavior found that women found men with beards — specifically 10-day-old beards — more attractive.

Do you agree?

It's the age-old question all men face:
Do I look better with or without facial hair?
It's kind of like the female equivalent: Should I wear my hair up or down? Though guys tend to always be fans of other men's beards, ladies are a little ... pickier. So, male or female, scruffy or clean-shaven, you tell us:
Do these male stars look better with or without?

Do you agree? Do you prefer a Beard or not?
Let us know on our Facebook which you prefer.

Coco Chanel 26/9

Coco Chanel Born Gabrielle“Coco” Bonheur Chanel was an excellent French fashion designer, founder of the well known Chanel brand, whose modernist thought, practical design, and pursuit of expensive simplicity made her an important and influential figure in 20th-century fashion. She was the only fashion designer to be named on Time 100:
The Most Important People of the Century.

Chanel was known for her lifelong determination, ambition, and energy which she applied to her professional and social life. She achieved both success as a businesswoman and social prominence thanks to the connections she made through her work.

The Chanel No.5 scent is the best selling in the world.

First in Vogue1916February 1st.

The seamlessness between clothing and feminism might indeed be what made Chanel designs so desirable and so timeless. But the potently quotable, ever-confident Chanel remarked on her legacy the best:
“I created the most well-known style in the world,” she said,
because fashion is ephemeral, but style is eternal.”

COCO CHANEL is the subject of the new exhibition that opened at the London College of Fashion (LCF) in August 13. The display features portraits of the designer taken by her friend, Californian artist Marion Pike.

The showcase will look at the friendship between the two, exploring their life stories and their creative influences

The display is on show between September 4 and November 16 at the college's Fashion Space Gallery on John Princes Street, London W1.

Hair Science 23/9

How to remove chewing gum
from your hair.

Rumours are that you can freeze the chewing gum, however this would be very difficult to do with putting a child's head in the freezer.

The best way, recommended  by 'Wriggles' is to combine butter and co co powder together and work this into the hair.
Sounds crazy but really doesnt work!

Sir Paul Smith - 19/9

Sir Paul Smith

English Fashion Designer

"You can find inspiration in everything. If you can't, than your not looking properly!"

He is commercially successful and

highly respected within the Fashion Industry.

Born in 1946 in Nottingham, England, Smith's childhood ambition was to become a professional racing cyclist. He left school at 15 with no qualifications and began working in a Nottingham clothing warehouse as an errand boy. He relished his cycle to and from the warehouse each day until aged 17 he was in a serious accident and sustained injuries that put an end to his racing ambitions. Six months in hospital followed, during which Smith made friends with people from the local art college who would introduce him to the world of art and fashion.

Returning to his job at the warehouse, he used his newly acquired interest in art and fashion and began making displays for the showroom. Soon after, he was made menswear buyer.
Smith also started to take evening classes in tailoring in Nottinghamshire where he learned to cut cloth as well as the basics. Soon after, he joined Lincroft Kilgour in Savile Row after being spotted by chairman Harold Tillman, where his designs were worn by celebrities including footballer George Best.
Paul Smith now has 15 shops and concessions in the UK and 200 shops worldwide, in markets including Japan, Paris, Milan, New York and Hong Kong. The business, still based in his native Nottingham, has turnover of £325 million.

As chairman and designer,  Sir Paul is still involved in every aspect of it.
